Tämä viikko onkin ollut miljoonien tiedostojen lukemista, ohjelmien testailua ja aikataulun löytämistä. Onneksi tämä on ollut pehmeä lasku normaaliin toimistoelämään, sillä aamuheräämiset eivät ole koskaan olleet ystäviäni. Nyt olen saanut alkuviikon ajan treenata aikaisin heräämistä ja sitten huomenna alkaa todellinen urakka: klo 7-15 työvuorot.
Fiilis työpaikalla on rento ja taukojen pitämiseen kannustetaan. Vähintään kerran tunnissa kuuluisi liikkua toimipisteestään muualle, edes hakemaan kahvia. Työntekijöiden hyvinvoinnista välitetään ja tämän takia toimistolla on erilaisia työtiloja, lepohuone ja useita keittiöitä. Tuoleissa on yhdeksän erilaista säätö mahdollisuutta, pöydän korkeutta pystyy muuttamaan halutessaan sekunneissa ja jokaisissa rappusissa muistutetaan pitämään kiinni kaiteesta (Safety first!).
Osaston pomo käy joka aamu kättelemässä kaikki, tiiminvetäjä käy pari kertaa päivässä kysäisemässä, mitä olemme tehneet. Tuntuu, että meistä välitetään. Huomenna on sitten ensimmäisen viikko palaveri hänen kanssaan, mielenkiinnolla odotan sitä. Se tarkoittaa, että eka viikko on jo takana.

Orientation days are over and now it is only training. There has been enormous amount of information and it takes time to understand everything. As our instructor said, we won't remember half of the things she told us, but the idea is to learn where we can find the information.
This week has been all about reading millions of documents, testing programs and trying to find the structure for days. Luckily it has been smooth entrance to office work since mornings have always been challenging for me. I had almost a week to learn how to wake up early and tomorrow the real deal starts: working days from 7 am to 3 pm.
The atmosphere is relaxed in the office and breaks are encouraged. You are supposed to take short breaks every hour, at least to get coffee. The well-being of employees is looked after and that's why the office has different kinds of working spaces, resting room and several kitchens. All the chairs have nine adjustment switches, the level of table can be changed in seconds and every stair reminds you to hold the rail (Safety first!).
The manager of the whole department comes every morning and shakes hand with everyone. Our team leader comes to us few times a day and asks what we have been doing, it feels that we are cared for. Tomorrow is our first weekly meeting, it's gonna be interesting. And it means first week is over.
