In one month..

In one month I have learnt..

how to create tickets.
how to categorize different tickets.
how to prioritize tickets.
how to use BMC Remedy IT Service Management (Aqua).
how to take remote control with Bomgar.
how to find information about the users, computer, servers - well, basically everything.

In one month I have..

started to get Clarity calls.
learnt whom to ask what.
learnt where to find more information.
enjoyed the cheap food.
experienced my first food poisoning.
had my first sick leave because of it.

In one month I have..

been partying in Sopot.
enjoyed the beach.
visited Warsaw.
started yoga.
tried bouldering.
met so many new people
and made new friends.

In one month I have done so much, yet so little.

Week 4

Töiden lisäksi liikunta on yhä pysynyt mukana. Boulderointia ja joogaa. Hämmästyin viime viikolla, kun tajusin joogalla oikeasti olevan vaikutusta. Selkäni on notkistunut huomattavasti ja kiinnitän enemmän huomiota asentoihini. En olisi uskonut näin nopeasti mitään muutosta.

Kuukaudessa ehtii tapahtua paljon. Jännittävää. Uskomatonta. Mielenkiintoista. Hurmaavaa.

Exciting week behind! Everything feels exciting, inspiring and stunning. People keep saying you will get bored as soon as everything isn't new anymore but I don't believe it. I have heard it so many times when I started at grosery store and after 6 years I still find it exciting.

We get more and more responsibilities and damn - it feels good. No one expected us to start taking call after three weeks but last Tuesday it happened. The first calls from Clarity were forwarded to us!

Most of the calls are easy tasks, like unlocking user's account or instructing the user to restart the computer. Some of them need more attention but so far everyone of them has been solvable. Ticket categorization starts to make sense, I have started to realize what to do first in different tickets and the whole process starts to form into my mind.

Besides work I have continued exercising: bouldering and yoga. Last week I was surprised when I noticed yoga has some effect already. My back is more limber and I pay more attention to my posture.

In four week many things can happen. Exciting. Unbeliavable. Interesting. Fascinating. I can't find the words. I think it is impossible to find right words because I'm still too close to all of this.

Different things in Poland. Part 2.

Part 1
5. Drivers give you a way
... even better than in Finland. I have spent most of my life in Finland where it's quite save to cross the street. So it shouldn't be a surprise for me if drivers are polite. But geez, here you don't have to think can you cross the street in the crosswalk because everyone stops. Right away. You just need to walk. And it is awesome.

6. Traffic light are extremely fast.
Seriously. It is almost impossible to cross the street with green light. You need to run if you don't want to wait another green.

7. Light switches are wrong way.
At least at our home. No one believes me and I'm the only one who gets annoyed by it, but I'm sure that in all the houses I have lived in Finland the light is off when the switch is down. Here it's on. You can imagine how many times I have forgotten to turn off the lights..

8. Windows open two ways.
This is apparently normal in many European countries but for me it is the first time to actually realize it. All of our windows can be opened both vertically and horizontally. I have never seen it in Finland. But again, this might be only our house.

Week 3

Well, I don't have that much to tell about this week since I had my first food poisoning ever (or maybe norovirus) and right after it - flu. I was out of office few days and rest of week little under the weather. I still managed to solve some tickets.
It was weird to be in the office since most of the IT department were in IT forum in Helsinki. There was only max 5 persons at the IT service desk and the mornings were even quieter. Next week we start taking calls which means the practicing is over.
I missed all the exercise this week, but at least I went to see football tournament. It was so much fun to cheer for Kemira Gdansk and actually see how their game got better with fans cheering.

And yeah, this was only in English since nothing actually happened. Enjoy the pictures.

Leisure time.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
In Finland I don't actually have any special hobbies. Probably partly because studying and working at the same time takes most of my time. These first week here in Poland has been more active life than ever before.

I have watched all the hockey games in big group.
I have played beerbong and danced in the bars.
I have been bouldering three times already.
I have visited beach, old town and went bowling.
I have been more social and loved it.
I think the best part is the evening talks with my roommate.
But the most funny thing is that I had to go all the way to Poland to start yoga.

I'm excited to see how my weekdays will eventually shape, Right now it seem to be active and over-social but you never know what happens when when this "everything is new and awesome" phase passes.
